Returning To On Campus Learning Plan

    Phases 0 to 4

    Phases 0 to 4

    Danebank Health Action Plan

Danebank’s Health Action Plan is updated according to the latest advice from the Federal and State Government. Click here for the most recent update.

    Travel

School activities, including interstate or international trips will be reviewed in the light of NSW Health and Education advice and the associated level of risk of transmission. Accordingly, some activities may be modified in order to minimise risk and others may be postponed or cancelled.

At this stage, Danebank is not engaging in international trips and interstate trips are being assessed on a case-by-case basis.

    Wellbeing

    School Counselling Team

    School Counselling Team

Given that Danebank has moved to a distance learning platform for the short term, the biggest change to our services will be the way that the Counselling Team delivers counselling and support to you directly. This will primarily mean that in-person face-to-face appointments will not be possible during this time.

We know that the extension of the lockdown has been disheartening for many of us and that there are additional pressures on families and our girls. Please encourage your daughter to reach out to our wellbeing staff and to utilise our counselling services. Our procedures for connecting with our counselling services are linked here. When and/or if counselling is requested, our counsellors will email you the required consent form (which can be viewed at this link).

The supports available are listed below for you.

    In the Senior School
    • Senior School Counsellors are Ms Hanslow and Mrs Middleton. You can contact [email protected] if you require support. Sessions will be run via Zoom or phone. Please read about our Zoom Child Safe practices and print and sign the consent form for Senior School students when it is sent home from the counsellor.

    • Year Coordinators

    • Mrs Flick (Assistant Head of Senior School) [email protected]

    • Mrs Vos (Director of Students P-12) [email protected]

    • Mrs Tiina Hufton (Head of Senior School) [email protected]

    In the Junior School
    • Junior School Counsellors are Miss Jackson and Miss Petith. You can contact [email protected] if you require support. Sessions will be run via Zoom or phone. Please read about our Zoom Child Safe practices and print and sign the consent form for Junior School students when it is sent home from the counsellor.

    • Class teachers or Stage Coordinators

    Danebank Community Choir 2021

‘I Just Called TO Say I Love You’ – The Danebank Version!

We invite you to participate in this wonderful opportunity to bring our Danebank Community together through song. Every member of our community is invited to participate whether you be a student, a staff member or a family member of students/staff.

We ask that you to learn a simple song over the next 2 weeks, then record yourself singing it, either alone or with your family members, and then upload the recording by Friday 22 October 2021 (Week 3). We will then edit all the videos together into a great big Virtual Choir!

You do not need to be a great singer and no one will hear you as a soloist. You only need to bring a little joy as best you can through this simple song.

    What you need to know
    • Everything you need to participate is found in this folder. Any questions or issues can be directed to Ms Maguire - [email protected]
    • You can choose to participate as one of the following easy parts:
      • SOPRANO (slightly higher part and often singing the melody and occasionally a harmony)
      • ALTO (slightly lower part with some melody and a little more harmony)
    • Both parts are easy to sing and in a comfortable range for most voices.
    • Both have a ‘record along track’ with a singer who is singing your part that is easy to hear. You can practice with it as well as sing along with it in your final recording to keep you on track.
    • Choose your part and then spend the next 2 weeks practicing with the track as often as you can.
    • Be prepared to record yourself on your phone and upload the video to the folder by Friday 22 October (Week 3). Please follow the below RECORDING GUIDELINES when making your final recording.

    Recording Guidelines

    • Please make sure you are well lit from the front. Do not have a window or the sun behind you as you will appear in silhouette. If needs be, grab a lamp and shine it on your faces, but be sure to keep it out of the camera shot.
    • If you need to display your lyrics, please try to also keep papers out of camera shot.

    These next points are important

    • You must record while listening to and singing along with the RECORD ALONG TRACK.
    • Start your video recording then start the RECORD ALONG TRACK.
    • In the beginning of the track you will hear a voice saying ‘1 – 2 – 3 – CLAP!’ You must join in with this voice and ‘CLAP’ at exactly the same time as the track. The music will start soon after that so just smile and wait for it. Once you have done the ‘CLAP’, anything from there may be used in the final video so make sure you are smiling and engaging with the camera, even in the parts where you are not singing.
    • Make sure you have the RECORD ALONG TRACK playing through one headphone in your ear. Keep the other ear free so you can hear yourself sing. We do not want to hear the record along track in the recording so that is why you need to play it through headphones.
    • If you are recording as a family group and cannot set up headphones for everyone, have the play-a-long track playing quietly and as far away from the camera as possible, so that the camera picks up your voices more than the track.
    • At the end of the song, please smile and wave good bye for a few seconds before switching off your camera.
